Many people are surprised to learn that while Medicare pays for acute, episodic, rehabilative and some preventive care, long-term care is not covered in the United States. That means most custodial and supportive care older adults need and want as they cope with the challenges of complex chronic illnesses such as congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, is paid by private funds.
SeniorBridge care management and caregiving services are paid by Long Term Care insurance and privately, by individuals and families. Services are billed on an hourly or per-day basis, with costs based on the level of need or type of professional who provides the services.
Every client receives a complimentary consultation to assess his or her needs and anticipated cost of care before any work is performed. Once a client provides approval, a nurse and social worker care management team will develop an individual care plan tailored to his or her functional, medical and emotional needs.
Clients receive invoices via mail every other week, which detail all services and charges and may choose from a variety of payment options and sources.
