Experience in the field with the problems of aging has taught us that this time of life can be extremely stressful for everyone involved. Our specially trained Care Managers interact with family, friends, and other members of the community to help mediate conflict, keep family members informed and involved, and encourage social stimulation for the older person. Areas of particular interest include:
- Family support and regular counseling, including conflict mediation and systematic problem solving
- Assistance with clients who have progressive dementia or significant behavioral anomalies hindering adequate care
- Observation and monitoring for signs of psychological deterioration and advising the physician or family member
- Preventing social isolation by arranging regular activities and providing companionship
- Accompaniment to appointments and to activities
- Working closely with clients who are resistant to care
- Monitoring clients who are abusive to homecare workers
